Get our country up and going
D2151   : Other    Status: Evaluated

I propose that everyone who is receiving benefit of any sort (excluding sick) should be given an opportunity to continue in the field in which they are qualified.
This can be done by all giving 1-2 days of their time working in volountry organizations (tity towns, Samaratines etc), schools, hospitals, old peoples homes and anywhere there is a need.
For example all schools should have a helper in junior and senior infants. I am not proposing that this should replace jobs already existing. Rather give help where where it would be appreaciated.
This would allow the unemployed person to keep up their skills while we are waiting for the country to pick up.
Our children would bet a better education with teachers having more time to teach. Old people having someone to talk to and get a little more attention. Our countryside could be the pride of all. Volountry organizations wouldnt be under such pressure.
This could be done without it costing any more that is already being paid out (if the government dosent add a lot of red tape)
Everyone could have a sense of acomplishment and of helping the country get back on its feet . When things pick up there wouldn't be a big gap in C.V. where unemployed people sat watching T.V and feeling sorry for themselves.
