Free legal Aid costs the state a fortune.
If someone has more than a certain number of convictions I believe they should not be entitled to free legal aid.
Something similar to the 3 strikes and you are out idea in America.
Three strikes in Ireland and you will be represented by a salaried public defender who's goal is to give you a reasonable defence while not employing every loophole in the book.
