the next evolutionary step for "your local pub". "YOUR LOCAL HUB". what exactly is that ? it is the amalgamation of all those needs and wants in any village or town under one roof. a place where people can stay connected offline and online. the local pub has taken a massive hit in the last 6 years, especially in rural areas, and as a result, more and more of them have closed and as a consequence, done a lot of serious damage to the social fabric of irish society. the Local Hub can restore all of that and more. it can be a synthesis of all that is necessary and wanted in terms of social and economic functions in any given community. local hubs would be located all over the island of ireland, literally thousands and thousands of them ; a physical and digital network, all enabled and connected by the power of the internet. there would be no such thing as having no job as there would always be a job down in your local hub ; paid, subsidised, or voluntary. and while you're down there, you c More...

Recession is rolling somehow every where. Day to day business seems so traditional. Why don’t we think something new? Let think the old thing in a different approach. A market is a place where goods are sold. Think about a market where businesses are sold. Now think a market where business market can be sold. What market might do this? What if Ireland does this on behalf of a market? What should Ireland be called- Matrix Ireland? Isn't it time to think to be pioneer of a new Idea which will make Ireland the Mother around the world. Let have a name , Matrix market where businesses of all over the world will be traded through a mother country, Ireland. Possibility? - When sun rises its light everywhere.Isn't it enough.

When NAMA has finished transfering the toxic loans to ìts books, the governmant will become the owners of most of the 300,000 empty houses in the country. Most of these are in housing estates throughout the country. The government has spent, over the last numebr of year, millions in tax breaks and grants to MNCs for setting up in areas outside city, encouraging decentralization. By lending some of the empty housing estates in the country to MNCs in exchange for creating jobs, andin regions outside urban centres, they can reduce their costs for operating in Ireland. This would be pivitol in increasing international competitivness. Decentralization is key to the further sustainable development of our economy.

This is a proposal for a High Speed Rail line for Ireland that will use speed and interconnectedness to overcome load factor fluctuations and compete effectively with cars. It involves a two way line that will connect the seven major cities of Ireland together {north and south} and so help reduce traffic gridlock and smooth out overall demographics away from Dublin. Reducing carbon emissions is becoming an ever increasing requirement as time goes by so reducing car usage is a necessity. Tourism needs something special to reinvigorate it in Ireland; High Speed Rail can be a cornerstone for this. As it can be a cornerstone for economic development and prosperity in general. High Speed Rail can also push economic cooperation with the North of Ireland to the benefit of the whole island, helping to get us out of recession and put in place infrastructure that is becoming common place.

An easy opportunity for financial restructuring should be created to allow many people burdened with negative equity and debt to choose to pay an additional 10-15% of tax above each tax threshhold (eg. 30-35% base rate and 50-55% upper rate) going forwards to help them pay their debts, until their personal liabilities are cleared,, so they are taxed in a similar manner to emergency tax until they had paid a specific amount to offset their debts with creditors This could allow heavily indebted people to get on with their lives without placing undue burden accross the rest of the population to pay for their mistakes. This could also give people facing significant debt a clear and simple outcome for their fiscal position going forwards and act as an in-between measure to bankruptcy, thus allow many people who have found themselves in negative equity to pay off their liabilities out from future earnings. This could be implemented with the assistance of the revenue commissioners and a te More...

If only enough people, or more of the right people, would share a little more of their time or expertise for the common good, how many of our economic and social challenges would be overcome? For example, if enough people spent a couple of hours cleaning up litter at the weekend, the country would be transformed within weeks. If enough people did a little bit of tourism promotion, visitor numbers could be multiplied. If community volunteerism was to see a phenomenal growth – so many social problems could be greatly eased, or disappear altogether. And what if highly skilled entrepreneurs where to lend a hand to struggling new businesses , helping start-ups steer the right course with a little invaluable advice. Of course, while many people’ do their bit’, we barely scratch the surface relative to what could be achieved if we got the population at large motivated to volunteer for the common good. This proposal is about deliberately and systematically motivating volunteerism and More...

Ireland has many resources, cultural, it's location, it's size and particular it's people. In the current climate we have many resources which are not being used. 1. We live in a world ruled by ideas and very little else but ideas need logic in their implementation. The imagination of our people is legendary and their undoubted ability to come up with countless ingenious ideas could never be questioned. We have always punched well above our weight in many things. While cognisant of our strengths we should also be mindful of our weaknesses. We live in an increasingly technological world - one of which we must seek to support our declining advantage in engineering technologies. When we look at the tremendous technological achievements of the last century from the first plane flight to the evolution of the internet itself we can safetly say such advances would not be possible without the help of engineers. This is not an accident. Engineers in particular are the ones who have truly changed our world. Their achievements are so much part of our lives that we have taken them for granted. The worlds engineers have truly transfo More...
