Now is the time for Ireland to have courage to develop a leading edge technology. Invention is years ahead of innovation. Inventiveness has changed countries like Korea in a very short period,their list of product lines is proof. There is so much that can be done to develop better renewable energy technologies that is affordable for Ireland. These technologies bear distinctive hallmarks. Hybrid energy technologies would be the future. Toyota has proven this with the Prius. Wind is the most accessible and yet it is very expensive to harness on its own. There is hybrid technology far superior than wind turbine technology and its cheaper to produce. Ireland can become a leader in this technology. The YCYC call is seeking what only an invention can do.

The proposeal is simple,to use green energy,for example, wind turbines and solar panels to provide energy requirements for strategically placed distribution warehouses around the country. The placement of these warehouses or distribution centres will have to take into consideration the amount of heavy traffic from urban and large towns across the country,the amont of green energy that can be harvested. The central idea is to have all deliveries to shops and businesses delivered to one central location in or around large towns and urban areas and using electric vehicles to transport goods to thier final destination. This provides jobs in planning ,construction,warhousing,delivery personnel,total logistics in general. The vehicles are charged via green energy, the warehouse becomes self sustaining and it elliminates heavy traffic from town and urban centres and will also generate jobs or sustain jobs in maintenance contratcs in upkeeping green energy hardware.

I propose to build an airship similar to those made early in the last century but using a safe gas to give them buoyancy like helium. these airships can travel slowly and do not need a conventional airport so would ideal to bring tourists around the country or indeed for carrying freight from place to place.Even they are much slower than ordinary planes they are much cheaper to run.

This proposal is extremely simple to set up but offers huge benefits to businesses wether they be start-ups or existing businesses. With so many experienced business people made redundant recently there is a huge pool of talent out their that is going to waste. If these people were matched with start-ups or struggling businesses their experience and knowledge could be the difference between success and failure. I propose that a website be set up where experienced unemployed professionals would be matched with businesses that have ideas that have potential but just do not know how to implement them and make them a success.
