My proposal is to sort and publish all these ideas in a suppliment in the national press - while I'm aware there could be close to 9000 ideas, having them all in a suppliment would allow people to read all the ideas and perhaps could develop their own ideas. I find it very difficult to read all the ideas on this website, but the ones I have read are giving me further ideas.
The supliments could be published during a national entrepreneural week!

The State of Freedom and Justice
This proposal consists of three earthshattering changes to the State that appear to be synergistic and co-dependant.
1. Restructure the financial (tax) base of the Republic by removing all taxes levied on employment, work, enterprise, labour, trade, commerce and production and replacing them with the one, the only one that actually encourages all of the above – the tax on land value (aka. Site value tax, the single tax, the natural resource rent etc)
2. Rationalise the functions of the State, reducing its scope soly to those areas where the threat of, or use of, force is legitimate; these are Defence (and Foreign Affairs) along with Police (and Justice). This will require the sensitive phasing out of State involvement from all other areas such as health, welfare and education where force may not be used legitimately.
3. Expand the Department of Justice so that the Justice system becomes a Justice Service, where all who have a grievance may come t More...

Look around you!
Everywhere there are people in this country who can make a huge contribution in conjunction with others. My proposal deals with our abundant under utilized natural resources in a sound eco-friendly inclusive way. Bringing people together in the community to start growing things and from this growing ourselves . . locally. Doing something as old as time but in a new way with broader scope.
It all starts with an allotment, sharing ideas, finding consensus and Growing Up!

With peak oil upon us and expected major increases in carbon fuel prices as we come out of recession, we have an immediate need to develop our own independent , long lasting and dependable energy sources.
Wind and wave energy are well researched already and some forms of tidal flow energy generation are already established.
However, the greatest energy potential from natural resources is all around us and totally predictable, dependable and emissions free.
Tidal barrages are not a new concept -one has existed on the Rance River in Brittany in France since 1966 and there are a few other small examples in Russia and Canada - but until now they have not been constructed on any great scale because of the availability of a cheap ready form of energy - oil.
With average tidal ranges of 3.2 - 5.4 metres around our coasts, we are ideally set-up to avail of huge energy generating resources by constructing tidal barrages across some of our major (or/and minor) bays and inlets.

THIS PROJECT IS ABOUT IRELAND IN THE WORLD, AND THE SEVENTY MILLION PEOPLE WORLD WIDE WHO ARE IRISH IN ANCESTERY OR HOLD IRISH PASSPORTS.

As tourism is one of our unique selling points, developing outdoors holiday would draw many more tourists here. Hill walking, even in Wicklow and Kerry, is under-developed and as for the Slieve Blooms and elsewhere, these areas are our hidden gems, one of our best kept secrets. Our proposal is to develop this industry on a more business-like footing, with the introduction of detailed walking trails, gps and other user-friendly guides to finding walks suitable to every level of walker.

Municipal fitness centers are set up by local authorities and communities . These would be free to join and to use . All the exercise equipment used in these centers is equipped with dynamos to convert all the energy being used by the operator into electrical energy . This electrical energy is collected and sold to the national grid .
The revenue created would at the very least fund employment of staff , fitness instructors , clerical etc , for these centers . Any left over revenue could be put into community projects and used by the local authority , thus increasing its staff . Construction of these centers would also create employment .
The source for this energy production is free and could be far greater than that produced by any other source , be it wind , wave or fossil .
The health benefits for the community and the country would be enormous and save billions for the Irish economy .
The sense of pride and camaraderie that the community would feel would be huge and have many oth More...

The concept of Social Capital:
Volunteer work is of huge economic benefit to a society. Volunteer work is not a charity; it’s an investment in OUR society, our people, and our talent. The more we put in, the more we will get out.
It has been estimated that in previous studies volunteers could be worth more than 1 billion to the Irish Economy. But the social impact is much more than that. The social benefit gained by volunteering plays a key role in economic regeneration.
Volunteers play key roles in providing health services, social services, counseling, education and youth development, such as literacy programs; sports coaching; crime prevention and human rights protection; job counseling; arts and culture; search and rescue; working for the environment and wildlife; caring for the elderly; and assisting those in need with household tasks.
Giving tax incentive to anyone who engages in voluntary work would result in a step change in the level of services that should be availabl More...

My proposal is starting up an organic farming company. The name of the company would be Celtic farm. The aims of the company would be to have a farm of industrial standard in every county in Ireland. There should be at least one farm in each county, more depending on the size and quality of the county.
Each farm would be split into three different parts. Arable farming,Dairy farming and Pastoral farming.
In the Arable farming,it would be split into a further four parts. Each part represents a season of the year. That part would grow vegetables and fruits of the season. For example in the winter sector harvesting of winter vegetables and fruits would happen. All the vegetables and fruit grown would be organic. With the farm growing vegetables and fruit native to the season there would be constant harvesting going through out the year.
In the Dairy farming part of the farm we would sell the unpasteurized milk to Irish dairy companies,we could set up or own company and sell More...

We are going through a very difficult period time in our economic history - an understatement perhaps. At a time when a united effort would be hugely beneficial to our Nation, we have the opposite - the private sector are at loggerheads with the public sector and everyone is disillusioned with the financial institutions and politicians are blamed rightly or wrongly for the mess this great Country of ours is in.
Almost everyone would welcome the opportunity to make a contribution to a solution other than simply paying more tax or taking more cutbacks.
This proposal hopes to permit everyone living in Ireland and the wider Irish Diaspora worldwide to participate in a solution and at the same time help themselves. Everyone is concerned about the future and this proposal is an opportunity for the Government to present something to the people that would galvanize this concern into positive action. This in itself would help heal the divisions that are so prevalent in our society.
