This proposal is from my family. Having carried out a thorough SWOT Analysis on Ireland Inc., we believe that there is a massive employment opportunity around what we feel is our single biggest natural resource (an island nation surrounded by Sea with Magnificent Lakes and Rivers) which can deliver thousands of jobs in throughout the island of Ireland. The employment and economic benefits would be delivered in every community throughout the country, and would be transformational in terms of unlocking the true potential of the nation. There would have to be total buy-in and commitment by Government, Enterprise Agencies, Tourism Bodies (Nationally and locally) that the single biggest opportunity for employment growth is using our natural resources (Our Seas, Our Lakes and Our Rivers) , and joined-up thinking to bring about this transformational and breakthrough idea in terms of job-creation. It would require the creation of a single Government Authority where ALL aspects of our Sea More...

ESF: Enterprise Support Framework Enterprise Support Framework is essentially a structure that will aid entrepreneurial spirit, business startups and all businesses who participate within it. This customizable framework defines how business can be nurtured and supported within the community and business environments. This framework is based on the called keiretsu system in Japan and has been utilized in a number of successful countries throughout the world. It supports individuals, families and businesses in all business related matters including financial, technical and management advice. This government led community support group will foster an entrepreneurial spirit within each parish in the country. This framework will be based on the shared experiences and the enthusiasm of like minded individuals who wish to achieve their goals. Local businesses will assist each other in an open manner to offer their services and expertise to each other. Businesses and individuals that oper More...

I'm only guessing here but I'm sure the Government, if it viewed itself as a shop or supermarket would be able to offer products to the public. So if the Government could put a list of all these products together, it could then offer them through a gift card program whereby the Public would purchase with cash the gift card in exchange for these Government products. For example, in the US, there are Government auctions where you can buy repossessed or foreclosed items at well below market value. Maybe access to this type of auction could be one of the products offered through the gift card program. This would be a win- win where the Govt. could get hard cash while the gift card holders benefit from these types of Govt. products. There was mention of issuing some sort of national bond, something similar to the war bonds that were issued during WW2, in the midst of the financial crisis. This type of gift card program would be much simpler to implement I believe, would not require redempti More...

- Create a Renewable Energy Centre of Excellence - Manufacture Electric/Hydrogen Transportation - Create & Export Tidal/Wind Generated Energy and Knowledge of same - Modify the way our government think and talk about leaving the planet in better condition then it was found - Clean up the rubbish of Ireland (I think it has to be "free" to dump rubbish for this to be maintained) - Become the mediators to world conflicts Notes: If we put the planet before our current social and financial set-backs, it will appear a lot more credible to the other world leaders.

Getting the country working again and reducing employement costs are top priorities if we are to take Ireland out of recession. This proposal would replace a percentage of the weekly jobseeker's allowance with 'Employment Vouchers' which the jobseeker would then 'cash in' by working the appropriate number of hours for an employer, who in turn would be reimbursed by the Government. The benefits of such a scheme would be to A) Allow employers to employ jobseekers for reduced costs, B) Reduce the cost to Government for jobseeker's who do not 'cash in' their vouchers by working. C) Reduce 'black economy' cash payments by employers.

A unique idea using the government/lotto fund to stimulate further employment in excess of 100,000 jobs.

Obesity rates are rising by the day. So we need help. And if we don’t get it fast then we are facing into a future where paying back the economic mistakes of recent years will seem like playtime. Where the idea of attracting foreign investors with our lean, mean educated workforce will seem like tragic comedy. And where the memories of when thousands and millions of foreign visitors flocked to our little island to enjoy the welcome and the craic will seem very distant indeed.

This proposal consists of three earthshattering changes to the State that appear to be synergistic and co-dependant. 1. Restructure the financial (tax) base of the Republic by removing all taxes levied on employment, work, enterprise, labour, trade, commerce and production and replacing them with the one, the only one that actually encourages all of the above – the tax on land value (aka. Site value tax, the single tax, the natural resource rent etc) 2. Rationalise the functions of the State, reducing its scope soly to those areas where the threat of, or use of, force is legitimate; these are Defence (and Foreign Affairs) along with Police (and Justice). This will require the sensitive phasing out of State involvement from all other areas such as health, welfare and education where force may not be used legitimately. 3. Expand the Department of Justice so that the Justice system becomes a Justice Service, where all who have a grievance may come to have their case heard without c More...

Ireland is a small island nation, but we are dependent, for many aspects of our economy, on business, cultural, tourism, educational, innovation and social links with the rest of the world. Many aspects of our economy and of our Government have established separate means and ways of linking with other countries, but there is no integrated inter-agency hub, which can act as a central hub to improve access in and out of the country between and across sectors and providers. We are proposing the establishment of initially 3 Ireland World hubs, on a public-private partnership basis in London, New York and China. Each of the Departments of Government would be asked to consider across all the areas of Government three key innovation ideas per Department to develop and promote through the hubs across all public and private interest areas. The Hubs would also foster innovation and business and sectoral entry into the country on new ideas from the host countries. The focus is on nurturin More...
