We have some of the finest renewable energy & precipitation sources in the world. We also have some of the mot beautiful scenery in the world.
However most of these resorces remain unharvested & when we eventually do start generating from renewable sources our infrastructure is not good enough to make power export a viable option.
We could feasably export water but at times we can't even cope with our own water needs.
Our beautiful scenery can often be only seen safely by car as we have no footpaths or cycle lanes and the scenery is scared by the proliferation of telephone & electric cables on telegraph poles.
We also have a massive human resourse out of work in the construction industry.
The Utilities Interlink is proposed to provide a realistic and achievable system to link utilities to all our towns and cities while providing cycle lanes & footpaths.
At the moment all our utilities follow there own tracks around the country. However all centres of population are linked More...

Make Ireland the home of the research and development (R&D) activity. Support the R&D and be perceived as the country where most of the industrial research and innovation. Convince the industries that Ireland is the country where industrial research should be based, the prototypes should be developed, and the new products tested and brought to the market. Communicate to the world that the well developed infrastructure in the country would permit high standards of living for the scientific personnel, the universities would provide high profile staff and the efficiently set up legal and political environment are ideal to develop and to license new products. Basically, offer a stable working environment and high standards of living to those who want to analyse, develop and improve the technologies of the future.

Ireland is a country with a bountiful supply of rainwater. This is not unique among the world's nations but what possibly is quite exceptional is that most citizens have access to clean, safe and, it must be said, quite delicious water from taps across the land. As a well-travelled people, Irish people will aware that this luxury is exactly that, one enjoyed by a minority of the world's people and therefore one to be treasured by us all. At the time of this piece, Government plans are afoot to apply a price to this treasured resource, with the objective of ensuring we are all aware that this is a finite resource.
What I propose is a nationwide initiative to build a water fountain in every village, town and city in Ireland. The fountains would be designed and constructed at a local level, supported by a national central committee consisting of a civil engineer, architect, an expert from the civil service. The fountains would serve a twin purpose:- to give residents, visitors, all com More...

My proposal is to see how many of our talented entrepraneurs can come out of the woodwork, and rise up to the challenge of bringing Ireland online. If the funding is used to promote online start ups and improve current online business's through training, assistance and funding where successful opportunities arise, with the large number of innovative young determined people out there we may indeed find the next MArk Zuckerberg (founder of Facebook) lurking in the Irish shadows.
Ireland lags behind other countries in online business at the moment. How many times have you looked/searched for a shop/product that you know exists in the country but appears not to have an online presence? This does not happen in the UK or America. We need to catch up and indeed overtake using the innovative ideas generated by young and old entrepreneurs that have so far been hindered by the large costs involved in getting private profiteering companies to give them an online presence.
I propose the setting More...

A recent EU report shows that the black economy in Ireland is 16% of our GDP and costs the Exchequer millions in unpaid taxes. Hiring legitimate, tax-paying tradespeople is often a more expensive option and households now see the ‘black economy’ as an easy way to save some money during these hard times.
I propose a scheme which will greatly increase tax revenue which will otherwise be lost to the black economy. This proposal not only increases tax revenue, but will have a positive effect on employment too.

“….work for Irish hands, in the making of beautiful things…”
- Evelyn Gleeson
Our proposal will use cutting-edge technology and Ireland’s centuries-old tradition of
excellence in the design and production of crafts, to transform and revitalise the Irish
economy.
At this critical moment in Irish history, craft production will:
• Create jobs
• Preserve our heritage and ensure it’s longevity through design innovation
• Rebuild national pride
• Rejuvenate cultural identity locally, regionally, nationally and internationally
• Encourage tourism
• Mobilise diverse artisans to form a network of craft workers and designers.
This will give Ireland a comparative advantage to compete internationally in the global
marketplace.

This proposal is designed to create immediate and longer-term employment with a minimal setup cost and no long term costs to the Exchequer.
Why Ireland ?
It is based on the proven success of Ireland Low Corporation Tax rate in attracting inward investment over recent years.
Its based on difficulties in Financial Markets in recent years, and how financial products can change and a desire for stable , transparent financial products and companies
Its based on how Ireland was able to successfully establish the IFSC.
Its based on the high level of association worldwide between “Green” & “Ireland”
Key Idea ?
The key idea is to harness Ireland’s existing “Green” image and use it to brand a new lower tax rate of 5% to companies which meet a range of “Green” Criteria.
These criteria can be refined further at a later stage , but a central aim would be to broaden the “Green” image from only environmental projects.
“Green Finance” could include ethical criter More...

Your building contractor asks you for a 50% deposit of €20,000.00 up front for the window manufacturer on your new house project. What do you do? What if the builder goes out of business after you give him the money? What if the window manufacturer goes out of business? The window manufacturer doesn’t trust you or the builder and won’t even order materials until he has a 50% deposit as security. The builder doesn’t trust anyone, he’s suspicious of the Employer’s reticence in parting with his money and doesn’t want to pay his sub-contractors until he secures his own payments.
Welcome to the post “Celtic Tiger” world of Irish Construction.
