This proposal is from my family. Having carried out a thorough SWOT Analysis on Ireland Inc., we believe that there is a massive employment opportunity around what we feel is our single biggest natural resource (an island nation surrounded by Sea with Magnificent Lakes and Rivers) which can deliver thousands of jobs in throughout the island of Ireland. The employment and economic benefits would be delivered in every community throughout the country, and would be transformational in terms of unlocking the true potential of the nation. There would have to be total buy-in and commitment by Government, Enterprise Agencies, Tourism Bodies (Nationally and locally) that the single biggest opportunity for employment growth is using our natural resources (Our Seas, Our Lakes and Our Rivers) , and joined-up thinking to bring about this transformational and breakthrough idea in terms of job-creation. It would require the creation of a single Government Authority where ALL aspects of our Sea More...

Make Ireland the home of the research and development (R&D) activity. Support the R&D and be perceived as the country where most of the industrial research and innovation. Convince the industries that Ireland is the country where industrial research should be based, the prototypes should be developed, and the new products tested and brought to the market. Communicate to the world that the well developed infrastructure in the country would permit high standards of living for the scientific personnel, the universities would provide high profile staff and the efficiently set up legal and political environment are ideal to develop and to license new products. Basically, offer a stable working environment and high standards of living to those who want to analyse, develop and improve the technologies of the future.

The Mission at the very heart of this proposal is to create an Ireland where authentic and purposeful leadership is cultivated in each and every individual in the country through the development of a Transformational Education Programme on Self Leadership. This nation of new leaders will contribute significantly and positively to the growth and development needed now in Ireland, thus establishing it as a beacon of light, hope and possibility throughout the world. The vision is to craft and roll out a National Leadership Programme in the next year which develops the authentic and purposeful leader in each individual within the country. This is a new Leadership philosophy and model for this country based on ‘leadership from within’. It works by facilitating you to uncover your unique talents, strengths, passions and purposes, enabling you to identify your leadership calling so that you can take inspired action and contribute to the continuation, growth, development and positive l More...

Re-set the country to reflect Ireland as it is today The administrative structure that we have operating within Ireland today evolved during our Celtic Tiger years. With the basis of what we regarded as our growth now well and truly gone the old ways and old ideas will not get us out of the mess we find ourselves in today. We have spent enough time apportioning blame. The anger, insecurity and fear we hear in the voice of the people of our country confirm this, it is now time to look at the general structure and administration of our country and re-set it to reflect the Ireland of today. Make it new - the whole emphases will be on a fresh new administrative system that will reflect the size, population and economy of today. No looking back - an administration that will represent us NOW! Every company in Ireland has had to do this over the last two or three years, some companies did it successfully and are still operating - others have not - it seemed easier for them to More...

Implement a cohesive policy of branding Ireland " Eco Ireland " as an Environmentally sustainable & Energy efficient country . Key sectors of the irish economy : Agriculture, Industry, catering /hospitality , tourism , education will be compelled to adopt a certified "Environmental & Energy efficient " scheme designed to be self financing in that the cost of being certified will be financed by the cost savings achieved in abiding by the programme . this will be achieved by utilising green energy , energy reduction projects, waste management , recycling /reuse projects etc. Each certified programme will be designed as industry /sector specific . The inputs to the "Eco cert scheme " will also create further business in utilising green business products - energy meters, lighting, water meters, solar power, etc. This will create employment opportunities and also unite the nation in a national objective designed to make all business /sectors more energy efficient & env More...

NOW money With no money, no jobs & the country on its knees where does the NOW money come from? What we have to look at is the resources we have right now & where we can save money. With regard the resources; what do we have in abundance, ready to go that does not need a massive cash injection to get off the ground? The obvious answer is an abundance of physically strong, fit, able-bodied educated men & women, a powerhouse of a workforce, currently idle & an abundance of newly finished & half finished houses also currently idle. So we need to look closely at these two resources & think outside the box, outside Ireland because with no NOW money in here, we need to go out there & bring it back. Simply put, we need to be inventive & find ways to persuade other nations to part with their cash for our currently over abundant & idle resources. In the 40/50’s our strong left Ireland to build Britain, America & other nations. Floodgates opened again in the 80’s this time not just our stro More...

As the population of Irelands "greys", the amount of older people supported by the labour force will increase dramatically over the coming decades. Therefore there will be less productive workers supporting many more retired persons. We have to deal with the current ageist policies in employment law (normal retirement age), state retirement ages and provision of healthcare for older people. Our policy creates a universal healthcare system which enshrines the right for all older people to healthcare services. This will be funded by a state insurance scheme. In addition employment will be created through increased support for families with older relatives. Relatives should be kept at home where possible, not imprisoned in nursing homes when of sound mind but having no one to look after them. Age is something that will affect us all, its time for young and old to rally and protect the rights of older people. Someday soon we to will be older.

Turn Ireland into the most sought after country in the world in which to work and live by fixing all the elements that are not working and which are disrupting our society. We need to recognize that Ireland’s most unique feature is its landscape, people, location and reputation as a creative and unique country. We should model our growth and development on territories such as the island of Jersey. Like Jersey our focus should be on: Financial Services, Tourism, IT, Digital and Green Technologies and Agriculture. With this in mind we can sustain two main industries: Tourism & Arts based products and Ireland as a Tax-Haven / Corporate HQ / private Banking paradise for multinationals and wealthy individuals wanting a presence in an English speaking country. Furthermore green technologies, ecommerce, IT, education are areas we can grow and develop, plus agriculture should be restored to being a key industry on this island. Our unique position as an island protects us from GM crop More...
