Electric motorway that uses an electromagnetic field to induce charge or to propel vehicles along. Be it new electric vehicles which may only have limited speed and range will have the benefit of been able to travel motorway at speeds of up to 120 km/ph while topping up their charge to allow them to go further off motorway. Or Existing vehicles that can have a modification made that will allow them to switch from fossil fuel while on the motorway. Renewable and sustainable energy can ensure 0 carbon emissions. Electric motoring is reported to cost as little as 1p per mile. This system can be easily installed by incorporating a road cutting saw, Track decoiler, asphalt dispenser and a road surface finisher on a 40 ft rig. Distances of between 10 and 50 KM of road could be laid in a day and as only one lane would require the track minimum disruption would be caused to the public. The vehicle modification could be produced in mass in Ireland and be fitted by registered garages around t More...

We have some of the finest renewable energy & precipitation sources in the world. We also have some of the mot beautiful scenery in the world. However most of these resorces remain unharvested & when we eventually do start generating from renewable sources our infrastructure is not good enough to make power export a viable option. We could feasably export water but at times we can't even cope with our own water needs. Our beautiful scenery can often be only seen safely by car as we have no footpaths or cycle lanes and the scenery is scared by the proliferation of telephone & electric cables on telegraph poles. We also have a massive human resourse out of work in the construction industry. The Utilities Interlink is proposed to provide a realistic and achievable system to link utilities to all our towns and cities while providing cycle lanes & footpaths. At the moment all our utilities follow there own tracks around the country. However all centres of population are linked More...

This proposal is from my family. Having carried out a thorough SWOT Analysis on Ireland Inc., we believe that there is a massive employment opportunity around what we feel is our single biggest natural resource (an island nation surrounded by Sea with Magnificent Lakes and Rivers) which can deliver thousands of jobs in throughout the island of Ireland. The employment and economic benefits would be delivered in every community throughout the country, and would be transformational in terms of unlocking the true potential of the nation. There would have to be total buy-in and commitment by Government, Enterprise Agencies, Tourism Bodies (Nationally and locally) that the single biggest opportunity for employment growth is using our natural resources (Our Seas, Our Lakes and Our Rivers) , and joined-up thinking to bring about this transformational and breakthrough idea in terms of job-creation. It would require the creation of a single Government Authority where ALL aspects of our Sea More...

This proposal suggests that Ireland capitalize on a national spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship and create an Independent Contract Research Services Organization that will offer both R&D services to industry, for Ireland and the EU and provide improved success for commercialization of innovation. Though it is believed that Ireland has the majority of skills in place to capitalize on bringing technology from inception to market delivery, we lack skills in certain areas that are critical. One of the key opportunities for improvement of technology commercialization is specifically in the area of “Commercialization” and also in “Marketing”. These areas have been acknowledged as needing improvement by several thought leaders in business, government and academia. (Innovation Taskforce Report, 3/2010). There is a great opportunity and desire to create an “Innovation hub” in Ireland, and for this hub to become a European Center of Innovation. Large organizations are alrea More...

Description: This Proposal is designed to provide employment especially to those most affected by the present recession, namely: Carpenters, Plumbers, Electricians, Fitters and factory workers. The methodology used is designed to achieve this by concentrating on maximising our use of scarce resources and providing a comprehensive plan which can be implemented by every household in Ireland giving a potential market of 1.3 million households. If successful the idea could be used and exported to countries abroad significantly increasing the potential market. The concept is modular in design thereby allowing each household the opportunity of deciding what modules it will implement and will allow further modules to be added when financial circumstances allow. The problem with existing energy conservation methods is that on their own they only provide a partial solution to our energy needs. This proposal allows the interaction of different elements to provide a comprehensive solution More...

This is a two part proposal which when combined I feel could bring prosperity to Ireland. It could also be used in separate parts by using the industry on its own or a different industry with a similar plan. Part one is as follows. The Dutch are one of the biggest exporters of flowers in the world. They have built up this industry over centuries. Their climate is ideal for such production. However a huge proportion of Holland’s flowers are now produced in polytunnels. This negates the need for particular climatic conditions. Although the tradition of flower growing began as a result of certain climatic conditions, its no longer a factor and Holland continues to expand in this industry. Ireland has an enormous amount of unused land space. Polytunnels are relatively inexpensive. Ireland currently imports almost all of its flowers. The proposal is that a huge amount of Polytunnels be set up on currently cheap land by Government. A small fraction should be used by employing permanent ex More...

My idea is to allow employers to hire people who are collecting job seekers allowance at a reduced cost. Employee could still collect their full allowance and the employer would only pay the amount in excess of job seekers allowance. The jobs would be for qualified people and pay twelve Euro per hour.

My proposal if implemented will create real substantial benefits for regions and communities, encompassing a broad range of economic, environmental and social attributes. It will become a major visitor destination with the potentail of attracting millions of guests while also becoming a key supplier to the Irish energy sector. Tourism & Energy Sectors
