We are an Existing Local Development Group set up to turn our town into the First Geo-Thermal Low Carbon emisson town in Ireland . The proposal is to develop a Carbon Neutral Geo-Thermal District Heating And Power System for our District and town in the beginning . Following the establishment of the above proposal, it is then proposed to expand our project to Bio-Mass and Wind Power to assist in the supplementation of local power requirements. Out town has an existing large employee base and is currently the 4th or 5th largest user of power in the Country. A District Heating and Power plant would bring new construction employment and permanent much needed jobs to our town. In co-operation with our Local Authority we would also propose to turn our Area into a Low Carbon emission town by developing and building on the current environmental strategy of our area.

I propose a way to save energy costs, generate €3bn of internal investment and significantly reduce reliance on energy imports.

Look around you! Everywhere there are people in this country who can make a huge contribution in conjunction with others. My proposal deals with our abundant under utilized natural resources in a sound eco-friendly inclusive way. Bringing people together in the community to start growing things and from this growing ourselves . . locally. Doing something as old as time but in a new way with broader scope. It all starts with an allotment, sharing ideas, finding consensus and Growing Up!

THIS PROJECT IS ABOUT IRELAND IN THE WORLD, AND THE SEVENTY MILLION PEOPLE WORLD WIDE WHO ARE IRISH IN ANCESTERY OR HOLD IRISH PASSPORTS. MUINTIR CHANGES THE WAY WE BRAND IRELAND AND IRISH GOODS AND SERVICES, IT PROMOTES A CULTURAL SHIFT IN UNDERSTANDING THAT BEING IRISH BY BIRTH OR ANCESTRY, WE ARE A MIXTURE OF VARIED SETLTERS, VIKING, FRENCH, , WELSH ENGLISH, SCOTTISH, JEWISH, FLEMISH, IN THE PAST, AND IN RECENT TIMES, A NEW POPULATION HAS BEEN ADDED TO THAT MIX. OUR INDUSTRIAL AND CRAFT PRODUCTS ARE EQUALLY DIVERSE, AND MUINTIR TWINES THIS DIVERSITY INTO A NEW GLOBAL MARKET AND IRELAND SHOWCASE. IT’S A TWO WAY MARKETPLACE –COMPANIES OWNED OR STAFFED BY THE IRISH ABROAD WOULD HAVE AN EQUAL PLACE WITH INDIGENOUS COMPANIES, LEADING TO NEW LINKS, LEARNING AND PROFITIBILITY. ONE OF THE MAIN THEMES TO EMERGE FROM THE ATTENDEES AT THE GLOBAL IRISH ECONOMIC FORUM WAS THE IMPORTANCE OF IRISH CULTURE TO THE IMAGE OF THIS COUNTRY ABROAD.…. AS WE STRIVE TO PROMOTE IRISH CULTURE AND More...

With this idea almost every small to medium sized river in Ireland could be used to produce electrical power, as our economy begins to grow along with the global economy energy prices will without question rise once more. Add to this much greater use of electric cars, cheap, renewable, independent energy is the way forward for our country. The system I am proposing is therefore of benifit to all, it wil provide employment in all regions of Ireland and be of benifit to future generations. It would of far greater benifit than wind power as it is constant and not subject to variation due to wind speed

New employment opportunities, fewer abandoned lots and buildings, cleaner air, safe use of municipal liquid waste, and an abundant supply of safe drinking water. Sound good? Then read on! By using current off the shelf technologies, this plan will give Ireland a new robust High Tech industry that will generate numerous employment opportunities in Construction, Engineering, IT, Bio-tech, and Agriculture. It will give Ireland a new export product that is relatively inelastic in demand (demand will remain at similar levels regardless of economic pressures), and promotes good health. Over 800 million hectares of the earth is committed to soil-based agriculture, or about 38% of the total available landmass. Modern agriculture employs a multitude of chemical products, and exposure to agrochemicals (pesticides, fungicides) create health risks. Transmission rates of numerous infectious disease agents have dramatically increased- influenza, rabies, yellow fever, dengue fever, malaria, hookwor More...

Municipal fitness centers are set up by local authorities and communities . These would be free to join and to use . All the exercise equipment used in these centers is equipped with dynamos to convert all the energy being used by the operator into electrical energy . This electrical energy is collected and sold to the national grid . The revenue created would at the very least fund employment of staff , fitness instructors , clerical etc , for these centers . Any left over revenue could be put into community projects and used by the local authority , thus increasing its staff . Construction of these centers would also create employment . The source for this energy production is free and could be far greater than that produced by any other source , be it wind , wave or fossil . The health benefits for the community and the country would be enormous and save billions for the Irish economy . The sense of pride and camaraderie that the community would feel would be huge and have many oth More...

Project Summary It rains in Ireland. A lot! Over the last few years, mean annual rainfall was about 1000mm. This works out at over 70 billion metres cubed of water falling on this little island. That is a lot of water! The basic proposal is to harness the potential energy provided by falling rain to allow homes to generate electricity for their own use or to be financially recompensed by feeding the generated power directly back to the national grid. The two central tenets of the proposal are 1) The development of a downpipe power generation system which will replace standard downpipes in existing home guttering systems and 2) The introduction of a national feed-in tariff system (FITs) to encourage micro-generation on a large scale and to make the scheme financially attractive to all. The power generation system comprises a downpipe fitted with a series of micro-turbines along its length. As rain fall is diverted to the downpipe, each turbine is rotated in turn, generating powe More...

Ireland's Quiddity 'our road from Perdition' Proposal in it's simplest form. 3 steps Step 1. Free Energy Zones We designate particular areas in Ireland for free electricity. How is this accomplished? Wind turbines on a very large scale (my approach is quite different to some already mentioned so far on yourcountyyourcall, any similarities are unintentional) The overall concept is to establish at least one free energy community, and then empower it through small cottage based industry, wherein already established Irish companies can mentor new business. The Free Energy Zone acts like a microcosm of the type of change that can take place if a targeted region is given something like free energy in order to bring about change. Step 2. Implementation For the sake of argument, lets say I have half a million Euro in my hands, what would that get me, well' If I'm very lucky, with some sponsorship and a pitch to buy more I'd be hoping for a 1 Megawatt wind turbine, enough to power 700-1000 h More...
