This idea is a more efficient way for the Revenue Commissioners to track sales of goods and services accurately where a receipt is normally issued by a vendor. I.E. restaurant, petrol station, taxis and self-employed. The idea wills incentive the customer to ask for a receipt at point of sale. All till rolls will be pre-printed by specially authorised printing company that are tax compliant. All receipts will be printed with a watermark and a Revenue stamp. The idea will eliminate the black market and raise awareness of Tax avoidance in the service industry. An estimated extra €50,000,000 each year could be collected by this easy idea.

Your building contractor asks you for a 50% deposit of €20,000.00 up front for the window manufacturer on your new house project. What do you do? What if the builder goes out of business after you give him the money? What if the window manufacturer goes out of business? The window manufacturer doesn’t trust you or the builder and won’t even order materials until he has a 50% deposit as security. The builder doesn’t trust anyone, he’s suspicious of the Employer’s reticence in parting with his money and doesn’t want to pay his sub-contractors until he secures his own payments.
Welcome to the post “Celtic Tiger” world of Irish Construction.

A project which will create local and national jobs, namely the creation of an online network, in cloud computing style, which will act as a public utility for individuals and companies alike, allowing them access to software and shared resources. It would create it's own employment and cut down on major overheads for both start-up and established companies.
The project is funded through a local venture fund, funded and administered by local people, to be set up wherever possible all around the country. People who invest in the fund will be paid interest at a rate similar to that of Government bonds.

The government should issue a personalised Laser card, similar to the 3v card offered by permenant TSB, to control the payment of social welfare benefits to claimants.
Utilising current banking techonology , Chip And Pin, would be crucial to the success of this, and should be made available by the current banking infrastructure.
This card would be strictly controlled and based on the owners PPS number or another unique identifier. This would be used to ensure individuals would be unable to register for more than one card.
Once issued with this card, all of the owners social welfare payments, Dole, Children allowance, disability etc will be automatically credited to this card .
Once the payments have been credited to these cards, users will be able to use them similar to a laser card to buy products in Shops in the Republic of Ireland..
In summation, this card, while there will be a cost to implement, will eradicate social welfare cheats, ease the burden on the claimants by not having More...

Relax the very strict visa restictions to encourage more Foreign Students to come to Ireland to learn english. Target South American, Asian and Middle eastern markets. Australia has very successfully done this for years and their restrictions are not as severe as ours.
Or have the dept of Education competing with private schools to encourage standards to increase and costs to decrease. In short make Ireland an affordable centre of excellence for learning the English language. This has the following knock on effects.
1. Vacant property will be rented by these schools. Dept of Education/Tourism get involved to vet the schools to prevent scams so requires more inspectors and administrators.
2. People who pass certain criteria encouraged/subsidised to do a TEFL courses to enable them to start off the basic level of teaching.
3. More students requires more accommodation so vacant residential properties will be utilised to house these student which would give a boost to the rental mar More...

In the Digital Classroom, Ireland will be teacher to the world.
In recent years advances have been made in applying technology to education. The internet is full of teaching aids, lessons, quizzes, presentations, podcasts and videos, all of which aim to help us to learn more and better.
Some of these aids are of high quality but many are poor. In the clutter of the World Wide Web it is a challenge to find the site that will help rather than hinder.
Amid this clutter there is an opportunity for Ireland to develop a Digital Classroom, a portal that will become the port of first call for anyone who wants to use digital means to learning. The opportunity is global and immense.
Our Digital Classroom will be different from existing E-Learning providers in how it sources its material. Instead of developing content “in-house” we will be calling for third parties to develop materials for us, to our exacting standards. These third parties will share revenues with the Digital Classro More...

We create a yearly global lottery with one prize.... being made a VIP guest of the Irish nation....just like the Willy Wonka Golden ticket.
The prize includes an all expenses paid trip to Ireland during St.Patricks week, an itinerary created for when you arrive - visit Newgrange, meet the President, private tour of Guinesses, a guest on the Late Late etc...we could even add in ownership of a cottage in the west of Ireland, free flights for the rest of your life to Ireland (courtesy of Ryan Air or Aer Lingus), chauffeur driven around etc...
Think of how many people in the world would love to be Irish. If we can convience 10% of that audience to hand over 1 dollar or a euro, the revenue opportunity is huge. The revenue would be used to sustain the project but the rest should be used to create an organisation who funds startup companies/ new ideas.
In term of implementation, this is a really quick project to implement, less than 12 months. We create a small team who co-ordinates all th More...
