This project is simple and fun and is intended to generate interest in Ireland abroad while at the same time generating some funding to employ people to become ‘Community Trainers’ on a variety of different topics. The idea is similar to the recent popular and well advertised competitions held for dream jobs on exotic paradise islands. Since we can’t offer the weather what we could offer is...... the honorary position of Ard Rà na Éire (Hi King of Ireland)
The principal is very simple we sell a minimum of 5,000,000 €5 tickets (hopefully more) at home and over the internet with the top prize being €1,000,000 and a castle in Ireland for 1 year. Possible additional add on’s such as a fancy car, use of a helicopter, clothes etc can also be arranged through sponsorship along with the possibility of further revenue for all involved through some kind of TV real life documentary over the year.
The winner basically brings their family to Ireland for the year and are treated like More...

My proposal is to see how many of our talented entrepraneurs can come out of the woodwork, and rise up to the challenge of bringing Ireland online. If the funding is used to promote online start ups and improve current online business's through training, assistance and funding where successful opportunities arise, with the large number of innovative young determined people out there we may indeed find the next MArk Zuckerberg (founder of Facebook) lurking in the Irish shadows.
Ireland lags behind other countries in online business at the moment. How many times have you looked/searched for a shop/product that you know exists in the country but appears not to have an online presence? This does not happen in the UK or America. We need to catch up and indeed overtake using the innovative ideas generated by young and old entrepreneurs that have so far been hindered by the large costs involved in getting private profiteering companies to give them an online presence.
I propose the setting More...

The idea behind this concept is to bring those with skills to offer to those people looking for skills to learn or employ. Example: Person wants to build their own concrete wall - e.g garden feature. They would go / contact the Skills Centre and find a builder / tradesman etc who could either teach the person (for a charge) how to do the job themselves or contract themselves to the client (again for a charge). This will create employment in terms of the running of the scheme as well as bringing people back into the workforce - possibly using the Skills centre as "the first step" to getting back into full emploment. The knock on effects on employment and social inclusion are incalculable and very promising. While the scheme could be initiated over a relatively short period of time - it would evolve and grow over time to incluce more and more people resources.

For some time now in Ireland we have relied on the fact that we have an educated workforce to attract employers. But this is no longer enough. If we are going to attract national and international employers we need to offer employees with the ability to provide excellent service. Straight forward well educated workforces are on offer in more countries today than ever before. We need to go further and make ourselves attractive as employees who are versed in state of the art customer service and cutting edge business and manufacturing techniques, employees who provide excellence in all that we do – the Way of Excellence. The objective of this proposal is to provide new state of the art training courses in every county for all those wishing to participate with a view to creating pools of highly skilled individuals. These regional workforces will then be highly attractive to prospective employers on the basis that they are already instilled with positive & progressive attitudes and More...

Our future is in our own hands. The focus and purpose of my proposal is for Ireland to become the world Leader in fostering Entrepreneurship in thought, word & action by 2020. As part of this vision we have the opportunity to unite our people – family, friends, students, graduates, unemployed, active pensioners, public sector and private sector to focus our collective energy on putting money back in our pockets. This plan is about building a compelling future for young and old, for creating economic renewal and taking control back. The wealth of Ireland, and indeed the wealth of every country rests on the shoulders of entrepreneurial activity. This plan is about people from all walks of life coming together to find ways to put more money back in their pockets – What would a modest extra 5,000 Euro per year do for you in 2010 and every year going forward? My plan is about creating this opportunity for all who are willing to step up and be true Entrepreneurial Heroes of our n More...

The basic idea is to create a center for training pilots (esp. commercial pilots) from the northern hemisphere, in Ireland. Similar initiates in New Zealand, in the southern hemisphere have created many jobs , see http://www.ctcaviation.com/
Ireland has a unique characteristic of having a low density of planes in our airspace. Such a training school could be located on or near the coast. A training airspace could be set aside for pilots that would reach out into the Atlantic ocean.
Being a center for excellence we could attach inward investment from large employers of pilots, such as BA / Lufthansa, offering these companies a way to reduce costs of sending pilots to New Zealand for 6-9 months of training.
Regards,
Paul

GIFT is an initiate that would gather the unemployed Irish workforce to volunteer, educate and barter their skills
ENGAGING STUDENTS
With the students and volunteers working for the most disadvantaged in our society and by keeping those involved busy with meaningful participation, we grow and encourage a generous ethos for the future and preventing any further costly decay of the most venerable in society.
APPLYING WORKFORCE
After acquiring work experience this way, the next step is to utilize the unemployed workforces’ skills on a part time basis, keeping your welfare benefits while being less costly for the employer, leaving more money for both parties to be spent in the economy.
TRADING TRAINING
Where education and training cannot be afforded, a bartering of skills together for a common goal. Alternatively an employer needs a specifically skilled and large workforce, he can hire one training coach who would educate and lead the new tailor made team, keeping our workforces e More...

We need to create an Adventure sports college which will create community enterprises to exploit the spectular surroundings we have all around us. Train locals to deliver the sports in their area, if not on their own land.
Farmers and fishermen are leaving because they cant economically do their job anymore. Alot do second jobs just to keep going. Their children, to get a third level education also leave, with most not returning because they do not have anything to return to.
Why not exploit the knowledge they have of their seas or mountains to lead, instruct or coach adreline junkies as well as school childern on the joys of the wilds that they own and know like the back of their hand. We need to train more to exploit what we already have.
Examples:
Fishermen – Links with Anglers, Surfers, Kayakers sailers
Farmers – Orienteers, Mountaineers, Runners, Cavers, Kayakers anglers Mountain bikers, Adventure racers, MXers, Archers
Adventure centres all along the west coast employ â More...
